As part of a biennial series of pioneering meetings, the eighth European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC-8) is devoted to presenting, educating on, and debating the most up-to-date developments, topics and ideas within the field of breast cancer.

The Conference goals are to:

Continue advancing the rapid translation of clinical research into practice
Encourage the integration and coordinated organisation of treatment modalities, and
Bring together patient representatives, clinicians, health professionals and scientists to continue working together towards delivering equal access and optimal care for breast cancer patients.

ESSO Advanced Course on Upper GI Malignancy in partnership with the
Polish Society of Surgical Oncology (PSSO)

General information

The workshop on the treatment of upper gastrointestinal tract cancers is the first event organised by the ESSO in cooperation with the PSSO. It is chiefly addressed to surgeons treating patients with oesophageal, gastric and gastro-oesophageal junction cancers. During the meeting oesophageal cancer will be discussed on the first day and gastric cancer on the second day. On both days there will be four sessions widely discussing the problems of diagnostics, multidisciplinary and follow-up treatment. The lectures on surgery will include detailed discussions on the problems which continue to be subjects of debates and which arouse controversy. Between the lectures live broadcasts from the operating theatre are planned. The surgeries will be carried out by experts in a particular branch.
